IAAF Green Project’s Tree-Planting Ceremony with Athletes’ Ambassador

The “IAAF Green Project’s Tree-Planting Ceremony with Athletes’ Ambassador” was held at Nagai Stadium on Sunday, 29 April and Sergey Bubka, IAAF Council Member, and Naoko Takahashi, IAAF Green Project Athletes’ Ambassador for Osaka 2007, Hiromasa Hemmi, General Secretary of the Local Organising Committee for Osaka 2007, planted a memorial cherry tree.“All gold medalists at Osaka 2007 are expected to join a tree-planting ceremony to be held during the Championships,” commented IAAF Vice-President Helmut Digel at the press conference of the launch of the IAAF Green Project in February. The last week’s ceremony was a warm-up event for the “Tree-Planting Ceremony with 47 Gold Medalists.”
